Michael is really learning to cook this time, since he has had to do all the cooking and grocery shopping since September 3rd.  It finally came out that the thing that really puzzled him about cooking was getting everything to be done at the same time.  If it were up to him, each thing would be served as a separate course!  He has mastered spagetti ( Read more... )

The last couple of days, the TV near my computer has been absolutely infuriating.  Every 10 to 20 seconds it would freeze.  It was absolutely unwatchable.  Our TV in the living room did not have this problem, so we decided maybe the wire to this TV was worn, and Michael was thinking about trying to replace it, which would be a big pain to do.  ( Read more... )

Yesterday I was coming into the house and caught my ring on the handle of the storm door.  I immediately looked at the ring, and the ( diamond was gone! )

Last Sunday our choir director asked me if I would play a solo a week from today, so I got out my flute for the first time in about 2 years and practiced every day.  He loaned me some new music, which I enjoyed, because I would practice a while, then look at my watch and notice I had been practicing for a whole hour!  I have got to do better about ( Read more... )

Our plumbing woes started many years ago when we got a stain on our kitchen ceiling, directly under the bathtub.  This never progressed, so we thought it was due to overfilling the bathtub once.  Last year, just before Rachel's wedding, we noticed another small hole in the ceiling.  Not wanting to deal with it at that time, we spackled it up and ( Read more... )

Michael got the hatchway painted yesterday.  We didn't have any mineral spirits, so he almost ruined the sink in the downstairs bathroom by trying to clean the brush in there!  I put the brush in a piece of newspaper and rushed out to buy mineral spirits.  The hatchway now looks very nice.
